SOLIDARITÉS INTERNATIONAL (SI) has been operating in South Sudan since 2006, conducting activities in emergency and post emergency context, particularly in rural and semi-urban areas, including refugees/returnees and IDP camp settings.
The LogAdmin Manager will be incharge of the support departments for the EP&R team as well as ensuring coordination of ERRM operations function within the ERRM consortium. EP&R stands for Emergency prepardness and response, it is a team that is deployed for up to 2 months on remote areas to answer to alerts (floods, epidemics, IDP influx…). SI has three deployable teams. Each team has a LogAdmin Supervisorr. The Log admin manager will coordinate the teams and their Logistics, Admin and HR processes. He/She will be the link with the Coordination office support and the security in Juba. The resource will also be tasked with the revision and development of the necessary tools, SOPs, policies and guidelines for the EP&R team to ensure the necessary flexibility and controls are in place for the EP&R program.
Issues and Specific Challenges:
It is a relatively new position aimed at buttressing the EP&R support function management at field level appreciating the challenges that come with EP&R rapid and short interventions in very remote areas with limited infrastructure and resources. It also aims at providing enhanced split of responsibilities between program & support. The EP&R team are most of the time on the field, with often communication challenges so the LogAdmin will have to support the pre-deployment planning and to facilitate rapid deployments and provide back office support for each deployment. The holder of the position will be the focal point for Finance, Logistics, and HR and will need to coordinate with all departments accordingly. The position will also coordinate with other consortium members, both international and national to streamline processes and share the required information when needed
Priorities on the 2-3 first months
– Review, Strengthen and rollout ER&P processes and SoPs (in coordination with the Consortium members)
– Implement proper communication channels internally and externally
-Recruit and train a national LogAdmin understudy
– Capacity building of LogAdmin supervisors
