The NGO supports public and non-profit hospitals, local districts, schools of nursing and midwifery, university faculties of medicine.
CUAMM’s action focuses on health system strengthening and targets the weakest population groups, particularly women and children. Interventions include prevention, screening and treatment programmes; development or strengthening of referral systems at community level; training of health staff; management support and technical assistance to local health institutions; field research.

Job position: Senior Nurse Educator & Project Manager
Location: Abidjan/Abengourou, Ivory Coast
Duration: 12 months

Purpose of the role
Within the framework of an educational innovation initiative aimed at modernizing health sciences training in Abengourou, the Senior Nurse Educator will oversee the integration of high-fidelity clinical simulation, digitalized curricula, and structured clinical placements locally, while driving national-level institutional governance enhancements through operational research, capacity building, and international academic collaboration with the lead Italian University.
In his/her role as Project Manager, he/she will also lead the implementation of the project "Life-saving skills: Promoting Innovation in Healthcare Training and Skills in Côte d'Ivoire (VITA) – AID 013527", funded by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS) and implemented in collaboration with the lead partner and local stakeholders.
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Designing and modernizing health educational frameworks, incorporating digital learning tools and clinical simulation methodologies.
- Liaising with key stakeholders, including local health authorities and academic partners
- Overseeing the integration of high-fidelity simulation techniques and structuring clinical placement pathways to ensure safe classroom-to-bedside transitions.
- Coordinating capacity-building initiatives targeted at managerial and administrative staff to promote evidence-based decision-making.
- Liaising with the lead partner University to define and implement operational research activities
- Capitalizing on local best practices tested in Abengourou to inform and strengthen national-level training policies and governance models.
- Leading the overall execution, monitoring, and reporting of project activities in alignment with institutional goals and donor compliance standards.
- Managing field teams, technical experts, and administrative resources to ensure the timely delivery of project milestones in Abengourou and at the national level.
Requirements
- University Degree in Nursing, Midwifery, Health Sciences
- Proven experience in academic teaching, formal health education, curriculum development, and modern pedagogical methodologies (clinical simulation, e-learning/digitalization)
- Understanding of clinical placement structuring, operational research, and health workforce governance.
- Prior experience in managing and coordinating health, capacity building or research projects
- Previous professional or volunteering experience in fragile or low-income countries is highly desirable
- Good knowledge of French and Italian, essential for communicating with local and Italian stakeholders
- Strong interpersonal and cross-cultural communication skills
- Ability to build institutional relationships with the stakeholders involved
Other information
TERMS OF CONTRACT
Type of contract: collaboration contract
Salary: TBD according to NGO salary grids and compensation policy (basic salary for the position, with possible increase based on professional experience)
Rest days: 2.5 days for each month of work
Flight ticket: one return flight
Medical provisions: the NGO provides health insurance and covers vaccination costs
Visa and permits: the NGO bears the cost and paperwork for visa and work/residence permits
Accommodation: provided by the NGO, it can be individual or shared, depending on the logistical situation, the availability at the workplace and the available budget.
Other costs: the NGO covers costs related to housing utilities and internet; food and personal expenses are covered by the worker
